About Matthew
Matthew was born in California, the son of an Electrical Engineer and a Foreign Service Officer (both civil servants), grew up overseas in Tokyo, Japan and graduated high school in Rome, Italy from the American Overseas School of Rome. He later attended George Washington University in Washington, D.C. and graduated with a degree in Political Science from Louisiana State University. He joined the National Guard during the first Gulf war and received his honorable discharge on September 13, 2001.
Graduation from Basic Traninig
As a college student, Matthew ran for the Office of the Governor of the State of Louisiana as an Independent and was the first to endorse the 53rd Governor, Mike “Murphy” Foster, Jr. After college, Matthew helped deploy the Internet backbone working at major Internet Service Providers well as a small Internet start-up. More recently, Matthew founded “Enlightened Orchid LLC”, a film production company producing film for corporations, foundations, and individuals.
He and Jessica live in Guilford with their bulldog “Buddha”.
